The First To Fall

The First To Fall

A Chapter by Satan

It was a real bitter sweet feeling being an angel floating around in paradise,

We had more than enough riches to treat ourselves with all the things nice,

When the sun sets taking us into night, gold turns cold as it’s frosted in ice,

A great divide had arisen after more of the suspicious began to think twice.

My older brother and I would fly to the farthest reaches,

Side by side we’d perch and survey the vast land below,

For a thousand years we had watched corruption grow,

I’d sob and beg Lucifer to tell me why all of this is so?

His light radiated like no other I had ever seen,

He looked down puzzled but didn’t cry like me,

It seemed like he was trying to solve something,

He wiped my tears, it’s okay, don’t cry lil missy.

Not all of it is tragic just look around and you will see,

See the friendly picnic being held by that loving family?

See that elderly couple walking hand in hand contently?

See those young lovers there making out behind the trees?

Take your ears here and listen to these birds whistling,

Take your taste buds there, Earthen fruits are amazing,

Bring your nose over here these flowers are so fragrant,

Look! A voice for freedom making a needed statement!

Touch their chests and feel their fast hearts beat,

Sense their heat spreading from avenue to street,

Messages go viral as more of the informed meet,

Sharing a revelation today is as simple as a click.

See that teacher trying their hardest to help those kids read?

See how they put in so much effort and hardy get paid a thing?

Expected to carry so much stress and it’s infectiously frustrating,

I’m not sure how I can help humanity but I need to do something.

Sister, we’ve returned to our shrine of reflection so many times,

For centuries it pained me to see my little precious Lucielle cry,

Tears flooded as your gaze fixated on what I wish I could hide,

It cut me deeper and felt like a mass portion of my spirit died.

But brother, why haven’t you said anything and let me upset you all of this time?

Why didn’t you ask me to stop whenever the rain began trickling from my eyes?

I came here long before you, I wasn't going to invite you until mine all ran dry,

Had no clear vision as I allowed sorrow to blur a grand burning path in my sights.

Return now Lucy, to the heart of safety in a haven of greed,

I have to go for now darling, there’s some place I need to be,

A Devil with a few tricks up his sleeve promised his fire to me,

I’ve heard whispers he broke free and now I'm intrigued to see.

No brother! God frowns upon angels overstepping heavens boundaries,

Haha! That fat tired old geezer is wedged in his throne and fast asleep,

He was ruined by his feet kissing servants, many of which are vile creeps,

And if they did their jobs properly, I never would’ve had to take this leap.

With that he gave a big wave and slowly fell backwards over the edge,

I flew over to the border, ‘Brother Lucifer, will I ever see you again?!’

He put both of his thumbs up, grinned and nodded his rebellious head,

‘Be careful and don’t get hurt!’, How can I lovely?! I’m already dead!
