Seek and You Won't Find

Seek and You Won't Find

A Poem by April Child
"

Based on a zen proverb...

"

What you seek won’t be found
your mind can’t conceive
can’t reach with your hand
it’s hard to believe
but if you let go, its said
when it leaves your head
when you stop the chase
you’ll find what you seek

is in front of your face

This poem was interesting. It made me think and it got under my skin. It speaks truth. In so many aspects of life a person will find that when they halt the search for something, anything, that is when they find it, or are given it...which ever the case might be. Great work, I like this poem.

Yes so very true and if I have said this to ten people I hae said to a thousand. it is one of the hardest lesson to learn. I like that this one was so short and too the point it really drove the point home. Excellent.

So true.

But when I'm seeking something, I don't seem to remember these words of wisdom. I have chased impossible-to-get things like crazy and they haven't come to me. But I have had rewards and awards when I have least expected it.

Loved this piece.

Hi

Like this a good deal - I am truly believing this philosophy of letting things go or even putting concentration in a totally different direction and then you turn around and there is something just waiting for you that you had forgotten you were looking for. Very wise and talented interpretation.

I wish you'd told me this before i started out looking for 'the sweet line' a while back, which i have yet to find by the way! And how does one know, if one is lucky enough to find it, if it is your sweetest sweet line? AND ... IF ... you get your all time sweetest sweet line -- then what? Die? Glasshopper! Great to see you branching into the realm of moral philosophy.
