Woven Words and Soothing Swathes

Woven Words and Soothing Swathes

A Poem by April Child
"

My Soothing Swathes in response to Murph's Woven Words.. his text is black mine is grey.

"

Woven words

spun for you

whisper softly

from the loom

Awake to the sound

of silky tones

fine filaments

caress my ear

Each memory

a fastened warp

for a new weft

making room

Rustling bolts

of swishing silk

soothing swathes

pervade the air

Back and forth

in willowy knit

unfulfilled dreams

become known

This wonderful weave

our tapestry

wafts over me

fine as hair

As threads entwined

in rhythmic dance

find life in the

mesmeric drone

Drops and drapes

across my curves

gossamer sheet

of us I wear

…Fabric of you

   fabric of me

   fabric of us

  fabric of we

I didn't read your heading before reading your work.... I had no idea this was written by two seperate people, it seemed like it came from one mind! I have never thought of writing with someone else, so you just expanded my horizon! There is so much powerful imagery here that it is easy to get lost in the piece.... I always love reading poems that you can get lost in, it is kind of like being carried on a mystic wave! A very brilliant piece at the apex of literary marvel! Awesome job!

this has so many levels to it.. the weaving of two poets words to describe two peoples woven lives and the word choices.. perfection! Love the ending as well. Beautifully done by two amazing talents!

What a wonderful meld of two very similar styles...a delightful mix of "you and I", so to speak! Very romantic and I need a hug now! Great job, guys!

This is a very refreshing poem. Again, quite exotic, symbolic and very sexy. I can feel the sheer of it all. I like and want as my thoughts run wild. nice write.

Well written piece and good use of symbolism. I like your dual voice concept as well. (I have done a similar piece called Whisper a few years back, but this one beats my poem by a few lightyears). You have great rhythm and form, and the imagery and choice of words paints a very good picture.

A great read

I love how you explored the imagery of fabric and wove it (pun intended) into your poem, going beyond the worn out expressions of affection and promises of love.

Good job. Thanks for sharing! :)
