They Come

They Come

A Poem by April Child

I see them them come

from all directions

black dots

trickle

into a tide

I want to stand in front

push them away

shout “stop”

“no, don’t come”

“it’s a mistake”

“he’s not dead”

but still they come.

beautiful and heartbreaking share. i think the amazing thing about this piece is that you really convey that sense of disconnect from people. that ultimate lonliness and futile anger against ritual and how life goes on.

that didn't come out very eloquently but i think you get what i mean.

thank you for sharing.

Only thing worse is when nobody comes at all. One person at a grave with only the gravediggers for company begs the questions and answers all of us.
Feelings captured very well.
Well done.

The acceptance of a loved one passing is hard cause it is permanent... my condolences as well but I must say very creative expression.
