Anger

Simply put; I'm angry and this is what came out.

I could blame you for all the crap you’ve said to me,

I could blame you for all the ways you treated me,

I could say hurtful words right on to you,

I could even grab a knife and pierce that, which is precious upon you,

But above it all I know what is true.

Does not matter if you were wrong,

Does not matter if I was wrong

Neither one wants to submit

For our own forgiveness we do not commit.

What is this that drags me down?

But a rage of the moment,

Releasing all that has built inside,

Destroying all reason with a vengeful bide.   

An emotion that has set wars and brought death,

All from falling to its eternal pit; Anger, at this moment that’s all I feel.

What a passionate release, Arline,
While reading, I could feel the heat of deep anger searing my senses, and I thought that a work such as this could be very therapeutical for the writer, and a true relief after it's gotten out of her system, and great sense of righteous indignation can follow, too, where she just won't take any more unkind treatment, and who can blame her? Surely, not me; in fact, I'm on her side! ; )
This is what excellent poetry does, engages and involves the reader, pulling them in with you into your moment; a powerfully amazing piece, Arline … you've captivated me! 〜 Richard
