Featless Streets

Featless Streets

A Poem by The Last Poetic King
"

poem of sorts

"
In the snow covered streets of an old town,
Walking up to that old rustic chapel,
Thinking about the times that have gone to waste
And it's times like these that one could wish that you were here standing near
And they say there is nothing to fear when you hear the angels sing,
but love comes and goes and it feels like the world is fading from the real
Maybe hell is a beautiful place, Maybe heaven isn't what we think,
And maybe just maybe you'll forget about me

Now it seems that tomorrow's dream is yesterday's nightmare,
And we've been walking for so long just waiting for some sign to show us the path to a full home,
Oh lord, can't you just tell me that this is all a dream
Because I can hear faint screams,
And even I'll admit that I am scared

Come on, shed some light on these empty dark streets
Just trying to find some peace to this restless mind
And it seems that all that has been achieved is wasted time
Come back one more winter day,
Because there is so much more that I could say

All that is left now is empty streets
Passing memories lined like street signs,
Flashing street lights that change with the beat of this slowing heart
