Take a walk down the street,
Everyone's performing remarkable feats In the den of the lion, that man's a coward Shower him in sympathy; restless dreams, An abomination; a baby, laid upon your feet A black house crumbles while a holy church burns Mad men prophesize the end of times while prostitutes sell their sex And gun shots echo through the hollow night, lovers cuddle beneath the halo of stars The smashing sirens, the wreckage of cars The drunk man knows the arts, And to him this is all a dream, one big landscape He paints his life while starving children die, He knows no savior, all he sees is sin Where does it begin? Where does it end? This fabled City of Sin Hark within the silence, A cliff so steep, so the bottle rolls Down, down, down beneath Dead Man's Fall Oh! How ignorance is bliss! Deliver us from evil, undo what has been done The drunk man staggers into the rising sun This city is alive and it will devour your soul A mass of sinning, foretold by prophets In this hellish place, one can seek forgiveness But even churches burn to the ground Where does it begin? Where does it end? The hapless victims cry Lost in the madness, in this place, this City of Sin
