The Forgotten Escape

The Forgotten Escape

A Poem by The Last Poetic King

As pretty as the rarest rose,
On her sleeve her heart bleeds
and in this chest a heart slowly beats

Rhythms and the sounds of sirens
The static from the broken radio,
In mirrors the fading memory of you

Will you forget about me?
You said you'd always stay
Please, never forget about me

As dark as the blackest night
Her eyes are brighter than any star
And she's dreaming off a far of place
And I'm dreaming of her beautiful face

The smoke clears and the realization that you're not here
Like ten thousand needles to the warmest heart
And we're forgetting about what used to be
No, I don't think that you'll ever see me...
Again

Please forgive me, for all this misery
It's harder to let go than you know

Will you forget about me?
You said you'd always stay
Please, never forget about me
You are my escape
