One More Time

One More Time

A Poem by The Last Poetic King

Soundless days,
Mornings and that lingering haze
Drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette

Well the bed is not quite the same,
These words are all jumbled in this brain
But one more time,
I'll write a line
One more time

Off with these dull days,
Moving in time, but not going anywhere
You held my hand tight and told me that things would be alright
How you didn't believe,
That smirk painted upon my face

Now let's come back down to the ground,
We've been hanging around on clouds all day,
Just trying to find our way
But looking at the glass now,
Whether half full or half empty..
... It doesn't matter anyways

Well you know things are never the same,
Oh that familiar constant change
And nothing really matters,
The pain is just a reminder..
That we're still breathing

You held my hand tight and told me that things would be alright
How you didn't believe,
That smirk painted upon my face

Summers change to fall,
And fall becomes winter..
The snow will always be a reminder to this heart
Of what we lost, but we surely gained
We're two different people standing in that old familiar rain
