What Has Begun, Will Surely End

What Has Begun, Will Surely End

A Poem by The Last Poetic King

Sometimes the only thing that bind us together is the pain
There are days where the sun seems to just fade away
And the rain will never cease to stop, the faint haze of gray
We often wonder why these things happen,
But the answers seem to drift even further
Though we may push on with the intent of caring
Our bodies remain a host of all things not sane

They write stories, songs, and even poems about us
We are labeled by them and often shunned
What truly scares them is what they can't understand
The children without hope or plans

Though the sun shines upon our backs,
We do not feel it's warmth
Pushing on is something we do,
But everything comes to an end

We get lost among our dreams and goals,
Forgetting what once made us whole
Until one day the sun refuses to shine
And that is where we draw the final line

On a hill they may place
A cross with no face,
A silent ceremony may happen,
But they could never imagine
The words, the pain, the knives, the guns
The liquor and the drugs
