Tides

Tides

A Poem by The Last Poetic King
"

poetry/lyrics

"
Well you may never know
That these words they hurt so,
Like the tides of the ocean,
Splashing against the gentle sands
And this is the beach of your life
Take it with pride,
Walk away from the raging tides

Well you can't say no,
To these stars they shine so bright
In the night, you can swear
That you're alright,
But we know better

A light of your cigarette,
A drink from your cold glass
Your eyes are red and swollen,
Like you've cried a thousand tears
And your fears materialized

Well you are not alone,
There is warmth in what you call home
Tonight will not be your death,
So please do not hold your breath
We are here to help you get on by,
Please, don't let the time fly

Well you can't say no,
To these stars they shine so bright
In the night, you can swear
That you're alright,
But we know better

There are a billion more faces out there,
More lives to meet, More places to go
In your friend's arms you can always come home
So do not fret, keep on pressing on
