Just A Fading Ghost

Just A Fading Ghost

A Poem by The Last Poetic King

"
All alone locked inside,
Dreams they scatter and run away
And in my dreams your face remains

Tell me how to break this habit,
I am sinking in and I can't fight it

All alone locked inside this head,
Breaking down every moral,
Every ounce of love
Take me away from this
Show me what the world has in store
Well you can heal my scars

Tear me down at every corner,
Break me down, Show me how to feel

They say all of us are born sinners,
And I am afraid to say that's how it will remain
Ice cold, goose bumps,
Locking fingers together..
As the ice makes its way over

Well too many times, I've walked that shore
Searching for answers, searching for more
And every time, I found myself alone
Nobody here, nothing beside me
All the sounds wash over me like a cloud of dust

Can you mend what's been broken since birth?
Can you take away every ounce of pain?

Well you speak to me in riddles,
These words I can't understand
Why can't you be straight forward?
Why must you play these games?

Well too many times before,
Could have sworn your words were more than just lore
But who am I? What am I?
Am I just a fading ghost in an uncaring world?

Am I just a fading ghost?
Am I just a figment of imagination?
Am I the fibers in your very soul?
Am I the cold to the once sunny day?
Am I the words that escape your mouth when you have nothing left to say?
