The Long Winding Road

The Long Winding Road

A Poem by The Last Poetic King
"

just a little bit of something

"
City lights, they seem so bright
Thousand miles away from home

Leaving without a care, nobody was there
Drunken stupors and smoke filling the air
Swearing, I'd drown away these demons
But they followed me there

Lonely nights with nobody there,
Not a single person who seemed to care
And the voices in this head, seemed to disappear
All these things happen for a reason
Sometimes that reason, well it ain't so clear

Pain.. The hurt...
What do you know about emptiness in your heart?

Wondering if this soul was better off on the coast
Where the love seemed real,
The nights seemed to drift on forever
And never, ever, would we speak again

Well I found hope and love for myself
In a place, I guess, yeah you could call it hell
Maybe a part of this soul died, maybe a grown man cried
Fear it drags us all down
Well, tonight all of this disappears

Somewhere out there, this mind and heart
It found a light hidden deep inside
And with every ounce of pride swallowed
Empty bottles and frustration, anger
The willingness to give up, gone
Nowhere to be found

At last, some sort of will
Some motivation, some hope for me

These city lights that this souls hates
Showed this heart the light among the long winding road

This is so sad, I am pretty much cried. Such an emotional piece, baring your soul into writing.
