Sandcastle

Sandcastle

A Poem by Ryan Z. Dawson
"

Another love poem with an oceanic theme

"
I built a castle for you out of sand
With turrets bucket-poured and battlements
Adorned with beads and shards of kellet's whelk
And walks upon the bailey looking down

Beyond the strandline out on ghost crab steeds
We'll ride, shored up by ranks of tidal knights,
To sup with lords of wagtail courts and terns
In dining halls with tables carved from pearl

I built a castle for you out of sand
I built a throne for you to reign with me,
My ocean queen in silk and whaleskin dress,
Forever in our kingdom by the sea

This was an experiment with a non-standard rhyme scheme. It rhymes, though not in a way many will be able to see at first.

i had a castle of sand once
the problem was
the chafing :P

seriously
this is very beautiful
the ebb and flow work well with your succinct imagery
