Jayme

Jayme

A Poem by Ashentara
"

true story, unfortunately. My fianc's son... died a horrible death at the hands of his "mother". He was 6.

"

Sweet child

So full of love

Of eagerness

Of joy

What did life do to you?

How did you become a corpse?

Why did she let you down?

Your daddy loved you so

And I was eager to meet you

But she took you away from us

Away from the beautiful days

we’d already planned

you were sad

you took a “happy pill”

there were so many scattered everywhere

you thought it would make you better

but it stopped your heart

and you left us

with that immense sorrow

I wish I could have held you in my arms

Told you “everything’s ok, kid, don’t worry”

Children shouldn’t be sad

Children should never be worried

Woman, I hate you for

being so careless

For forsaking your child to a temporary high

He was only 6.

This is just horrible not your writing of course which is great, but the cause of it. I was actually hesitant at first to read from the description, but I needed to know I was compelled to read it through. Full of emotion, heartache and loss. I really liked the ending:
"Woman, I hate you for
being so careless
For forsaking your child to a temporary high
He was only 6."
It showed your true feelings you didn't hold back. Nicely done and so sorry for such a tragedy. Thanks for sharing.
