Tree of Hope

Tree of Hope

A Poem by Ashira Macy

She watched in childlike wonder

As hope fell from the trees,

Honeyed sanity swirling

On a tender autumn breeze.

Most glittering and golden

In the vanishing sunlight;

Some still painted crimson

No strangers to great plight.

They nestled in her hair

Showering her with earthy grace.

And as her fear melted away

Humbled tears adorned her face.

She danced that night with nature

Beneath the pumpkin harvest moon

Her demons left un-slain,

But the trees all whispered, “Soon.”

You choose words which transports the reader to other worlds. I have to say I quite admire your writing style. This poem was lovely, though I wondered about the context of the poem.

i have so many questions on this poem .. who is she? what is she doing there? .. the contrasts are vivid as the scene of entities and woods in autumn .. i like this .. read it thrice each time i am entwined .. want to ask but want no answer as to what your inspiration was ??? :)

The rhyme and meter give your lovely words a beautiful sing-song rhythm that makes your poem flow easily - almost like the dance of an autumn leaf falling from a tree. The last line took me a little by surprise...what a wonderful ending! A great poem and a delight to read!
