Love. It's a terribly confusing thing.

Love. It's a terribly confusing thing.

A Poem by Ashli Nicole
"

It's not really a poem, more like a bunch of questions clouding my mind, and no one seems to be giving me any good answers. So I figure writing it down will help get it out of my head. Maybe?

"

Love. It’s a terribly confusing thing to me.

Although, one thing I'm sure of, I believe you are destined to be with that one certain someone, someone that you just know you belong with.

Your hand fits perfectly into their hand, your embrace, your kisses, your thoughts- everything the same- yet different enough to connect.

Someone that is always on your mind. Someone that you don’t have to think twice about commiting to them for the rest of your life and beyond.

When you are separated, no matter how much time has passed or how many miles are between you two, you still love them as much as you had when it began.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe that you can love more than one person… but you can not truly be in love with anyone but that one person that you’re destined to be with.

Their name will never fade from your memory, their voice, their smell.

What does God expect you to do with your love if that one person leaves you behind? If that one person finds someone new, or worse passes before you? Do you throw it away? What if you’re too blinded to see it at the time, when God presents this special person to you, and you pass up your chance for complete happiness? Does he give you a second chance, or are you left to find the next best thing? The happily enough ever after ending.

If that's the case, will you never get your happy ending? Or are you faced with disappointment?

Love. It’s a terribly confusing thing to me.

Writing it down usually helps with my other stressfulness... hopefully it'll work. :) Maybe I'll attempt to catch some z's now!

love found me once...
like a terrible game of hide and seek...

lost in translation,
i couldn't speak

but then it came time for love to hide,
and for me to search and seek

and so i counted to ten,
opened my eyes and searched for that love again

she left hints along the way,
but i was too blind to see

trying to find something real,
that love that made me free

what seemed like years went by,
lost in my own despair
trying to fix holes,
that i couldn't repair
but then i thought i had found her again,
except she wasn't the same,
she had gotten lost in the world,
and the world will make you change

her mind was cluttered,
with false words,
that another love had uttered

afraid that i would give up again,
she chose another,
so back into darkness i went,
became someone else,
and went undercover

hoping she would be back one day,
so that once again my lips would leek,
1, 2, 3...

in our game of hide and seek.
