Preface

 

After the shocks had faded, he lifted himself off me, our bodies sticky with sweat and perspiration. He rolled to his side, his muscular back facing me. My mind was still floating on the cloud that had carried me away while he and I were making love. I didn't realize that this was the first sign that something was wrong.

 

I scooted closer to him, my hand wandering over his lower back to his six-pack. The tip of my finger circled his belly button and stroked the soft, coarse hair that surrounded it. My lips found the dark freckles spotted in random places on his back.

 

But he quickly slid out of my embrace, sitting up, his legs slung over the side of the bed. He took the pillow his head had just previously been resting on and placed it on his naked lap.

 

"Why did you pull away?' I asked. I felt hurt and confused. Why would he pull away? Especially after what we had just shared a moment ago? Wouldn't he except my embrace? My loving? "Didn't you like it?"

 

"I... I'm tired," he said. "You wore me out."

 

"Isn't that a good thing?" I asked. I sat up myself, holding the covers up to my chest. I sensed a coldness in him now. He was pulling away. He stood up. I tried not to stare at his cute butt as he started to dress. "Why are you leaving?"

 

"Because I have no reason to stay." He said this casually, like he didn't care how that remark would make me feel. I was sad, but also suddenly angry.

 

"You used me," I said.

 

"You gave," he said simply. "I took."

 

"You said you loved me," I accused.

 

"I lied." He turned to face me now, fully dressed. There was no emotion on his face. No sign of pain or regret. Nothing.

 

There were no words to describe what I felt at that moment. I felt like something in me had died.

 

As he left the room he closed the door behind him. I sat there, staring after him.

Melisa, how do you write these type of thing so spot on? Your too young to know the cold truth about men? Or at least I hope you are. I hope you never have to experience something like this. Because I have and it's almost like someone has clawed there way though your chest, leaving you weak and empty.

But to the point, great start. I can't wait to see more. But I really hope the next chapter it longer. Don't be afraid to write a full chapter. I know there are so many people that wont read anything longer than two paragraphs, but that isn't me :)

Well, no, I haven't exactly had this happen to me, but... it's one of my greatest fears. That he won't love or care enough to stay.....

Anyways, the reason I don't really write long chapters is that it just takes so long for me to write them! I usually write in this notebook, and life will interrupt me when I'm in "the zone." and then I loose what i was trying to go for.... That's why I usually try to keep it short and to the point.

Lol, I understand. That happens to me to often, I'l just be siting here with my fingers going a mile a minute and then someones in my face asking me a question or I have to go back to work :)
