Earthquake

Earthquake

A Poem by Atoosa

Earth was shaking,
I did not know it when I was eating my chocolate therapy ice cream in chocolate cone,
The music was on in Ben and Jerry's,
And we were slowly dancing on our legs.
At those moments,
In a far distant land,
Earth was shaking, too,
and that is one of the reasons that today, I believe in unification,
There, it was a warm spring afternoon,
and some people were probably taking their ice creams in ice cream cones,
and some people were probably walking full of hope,
and some people were probably walking by absurdity,
and some people were probably in the way of seeing their lovers,
and some were probably with their lovers,
and some people were probably taking care of the children,
and some people were probably playing football in streets,
When the earth decided to dance or shake.
At a specific moment, we were all unifically shaking,
for sure my mouth,
for sure my legs,
probably their mouths,
probably their legs,
and for sure the earth.

great piece, quite unique with wonderful images and great use of language, love the analogy that the earthquake serves as well...

A very good poem. I like the use of the earthquake to show how the world is moving at the same moment. The good description allowed the reader to vision different people in other location. Knowing and feeling the earthquake and trying to live. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
