Winter's Breath

Winter's Breath

A Poem by Silly_Clumsy_Amber
"

It's beauty can be deceiving.

"

The first snow fall of the year
shows the beginning of the winter breath
and how with one gust the snow is here
killing off everything to help with death.

How pretty the snow must look
to have its appearance have all of us fooled
and keep us in line of the winter hook
so we think this snow is covered in jewels.

How deadly the winter breath can be though;
while the winter and it's dark old nights
many times come with icicles and a blow
that creates people's darkest thoughts and frights.

For the winter blows coldness across our soul
while creating a false feeling of the heartless
that push the weak down an icy hole
to only find a gloomy, freezing darkness.

The winter breath leaves a trail of white
that the young fall in love with for play
but the truth behind the monster is for a fight
that leaves a flash of coldness that is here to stay.

With the winter breath, I watch as everything dies
while the world is covered with a blanket of white
hiding the truth with white to show only lies.
This so happens because the truth would only cause fright.

The winter breath blows across the land
radiating false hope off every year again
not caring enough to give a hand
for the people who fall at its mercy in pain.
