Pleasant Surprise

Pleasant Surprise

A Poem by Avery James

I feel it all
After a long day of thinking.
I’ve been waiting.
The first touch
A tiny tingling.
It’s hard to be breathing.
A tiny gasp
Is barely worth managing.
I’m avoiding finishing.
You’ve improved
It’s pleasantly surprising.
Hours later I’m still smiling.
