Just Breathe

Just Breathe

A Poem by Dezaraye
"

A moment of calm ...

"
Close your eyes

Inhale

Arms extend slowly
Fingers touch
A crescendo deep inside
Begins to build

Exhale

A silhouette on the shore
Waves create a melody
Clouds light as body
Dancing for no one

Inhale

Rays of the sun
Bouncing off the water
Stretching toward the light
Fingers brush the sky

Exhale

Laboriously, slowly
Sway to the sound
A cello pierces the air
The waves crash

Inhale

A distant pulse
Calls from the sea
Light slips into water
Clouds glow brilliantly

Exhale

Feet slide through sand
Spinning in time
Music floats tranquilly
Fingers brush stars

Inhale

A tear falls
Joining the sand
Lapped up by waves
A part of Earth

Exhale

Cello music stills
Waves crash
Movement slows
At peace with self

Open your eyes

It is amazing what we notice when, engulfed by silence, we concentrate what takes place around us. Just breathe. Let no thoughts clutter your mind, and the whole world fills your mind with pictures and sounds.
I love your picturesque speech, how you bring the scene to life. Nicely written. Very enjoyable.

This piece is so moving. Literally, I slowed my breathing just to be in tune with the words. I couldn't have read it at a better time.

Wow, you really have a knack for descriptions. My goodness, this was absolutley breath taking. The piece has such a serene feel to it, very calming. I can almost hear the music and feel the water, smell the salt and breathe it all in. Beautiful write!

This is stunning, Dezaraye. I had it bookmarked because I've read it and hadn't left a comment.
I absolutely LOVE it!

you are a truly amazing writer!!!i love how when I read this, everything in the room vanished as I soaked in the heart of your poem. It made me feel relaxed and brought back past memories that used to be long forgotten.

I don't often call a work of poetry beautiful - there's something about that word that bothers me - but I can't help it: this was beautiful. Nice work.

This is amazing. I don't throw words like that around lightly. Truly intense and meditative. Very in-the-moment and experiential. Very nice work.
Peace,

Ahhh I actually did what your writing said and I feel a lot better! "Just Breathe" was like a quick therapy session.

I love the sea, and I love the sound of a cello. Two very beautiful, relaxing sounds.

The music of the cello seems to be a theme in your writing....and its mellow sound reminds me of your flowing words in this piece. How serene and uplifting your poem is! Just breathing and concentrating on the intake and outflow can make the world a much prettier place, n'est pas? I enjoyed this one. Lydia
