My Beating Heart

 

My beating heart

has a natural rhythm,

smooth, slow and meticulous.  

To sit beneath the rocks

and listen to the waves

splashing against my feet,

only faintly shifts

that wonderful beat.

 

To sit in the meadow

on the lush green grass,

amongst the wealth

of garden varieties,

the perky colors

that transform into a rainbow.

These precious gifts of life

drapes across the field

as the fragrances of bloom

showers in the breeze

like a mist in the night. 

A sudden tone thumps my heart,

for the music has changed.

 

Standing before me

are eyes that wander in my mind

as I gaze upon the very angel

that has offerings of a rare nature. 

Her instantaneous beauty

ripples through my body

impregnating my soul,

as I become a dripping

sculpture of wax,

for my heart signifies

incoherencies to the clashing cymbals...
