Burning soul

Burning soul

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
"

Can tears put off the fire burning in the soul..?

"
In the mirror I see
the guilt on my face
The flames of neglect scorches my eyes
And the heat of my burns
conflagrates states of conflictions
Inflicting afflictions
I am consumed by the fire of my promises,my vows
wretched in my lucid insanity

Smoldering aspects of my mortality
Clutches onto my lonely heart
Only sinks me further
into the labyrinth of uncertainty
I have been searching the shore of certainty
in this drowning world
Only to Spark inner confusions & incinerating accord
Precisely savage memories
bring me to down to ashes
and my dead and dry dreams
so much ignitable.

Through clouds of vexation
my eyes cannot see far
Veiled by the darkened fumes of disharmony
Visibly, I see myself dying
But I am lying to the universe
While behind smokescreens of “well-being” I hide..

Deep into my retinas
somewhere in my vision
the flame in my eyes could be seen
coming from my burning soul
something that tears can put off...?

Balkaran Sidhu
When your soul burns...you're on fire at the metaphysical level...it's like being consumed by desire, only instead of desire, it could be the intense heat of guilt or some loss...or......

Wonderful description of these feelings humans can have when in love against better judgement, the guilt, the helplessness very poignant, great job. beautiful poem.

I had almost shunned this poem due to perceiving concept of Hades; of which I presumed what this poem was referring to. I am glad I read this though; it is intriguing and feeds the light of my eyes quite satisfyingly. To suffer from tortures of the past and weeping, wishing the tears may dampen the effect of third-degree burn scars was quite an image I am fortunate to have placed within my mind.

Indian dharma teaches that a good man will not be put down. The truth of your goodness is the light of your salvation. ' Ask and Ye shall find ' ... that may come from another faith but it is as true as everyone's own. We have to take the initiative to find out. Great write Bal.

Metaphysically speaking, this is awesome Balkaran. I agree, letting go of the physical, or trancending it or letting it burn to ashes is painful, and oddly shameful in a way... As connections to the physical world die, the feelings associated with them are multiplied by a hundred times or more. Feels a lot like hell. I can see you know you are in this world, but not of it.
An outstanding write Balkaran. Reminds me a little of a very famous Lebanese poet...

Tears can do that to certain extents..
The question penetrates deep through the reader's mind..

Thanks for letting me enjoy such a good job .
