A Life Of Confined Blessings

A Life Of Confined Blessings

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

Did you read my verses?
those words that speak of my heart
the emotion that has a name.

Did you perceive the little poems
that i wrote once as rhymes
They stand unfathomable in the sun
You would need my heart to deduce them.

Where is the pain that you saw in my eyes?
I have put them in your bridewell of thoughts
I only yearn for holy bells and divine fragrance
rest is my licence of finiteness.

Did you see the pup who kissed my face?
as I crossed the dreadful street
The one who was endeared,
 more valued than anything?

Did you see the child whom I gave a penny
The joy in her smile, pastoral to my eyes
I would not exchange it for anything
That split the world inside my heart.

Did you saw me dancing in the rain
a gradual movement
in the presence of imprisoned sun
For a little life, for a little love, was it?

We hoped as much as the Moon's own light
We declared accerbic wars against the skies
But when will those stars start to sparkle
There is a limit of joy that comes from dreams.
