WRITERS CAFE

A tribute to the Writers Cafe and all it's many members.

I am dancing with words of vivid descriptions

From memories more like mental inscriptions

Sentences appearing like magic before my eyes

Looking much like blood as the ink on paper dries

I traveled back in my mind looking for a possible muse

Searching for future insight and inspiration I might use

I was impressed by the wordsmiths at the Writers Cafe

Reading their many different views and talents at play

Poets like Colton Warr, Chris W. and Sin in Sincerity

For their depth of vision and imaginative writing dexterity

There's Ronnie and Rainslover who are braver than most

For writing in a foreign language they have reason to boast

Also there's Dante and AaronFreitas who write with conviction

Or Robert and ShadowWhysper where poetry is an addiction

Youngkingkwan who sees things in a different and creative way

And Emily's insight built the home where their post are on display

There are thousands of poems and poets I could read and review

Millions of lines I could remember, recite and learn from them too

In this virtual literary library of this human condition that we call life

Preserved word by word by those living through the pain and strife

I have found my muse, my inspiration, my reason to keep writing

It is this community at the Writers Cafe I have found so inviting

I'm glad I was finally able to read this as I was offline this weekend due to a wedding. This was great, loved it! and creative to put the names from WC in the poem. I appreciate you placing my name in it, thank you very much. I never thought I had an addiction with anything, but you discovered one, well done.

There are over a thousand names I could have used and I did send out 30 messages asking permission to use their name in this poem and these were the first 11 to respond. I was just lucky that their styles were different enough from each other that I didn't end up with them all clumped up in group. They are all talented poets and worth viewing their work :~_

You flatter me. I have been writing poetry for five decades and I am still learning new things about it all the time. One of those thing is that if you let your head get bigger than the poem you end up with nothing worth writing about :~)

Sorry, didn't give a quick reply, was off WritersCafe for the recent days. My exams nearing up you know. lol.

However, you know my heart got warmed up reading this. I loved it and I feel a deep sense of gratitude for your respect towards me and our relationship. You are the one who guided me through this ride of poetry that's still long enough for me to travel more. So, I felt at lot more ease in developing the meaning of poetry and how the language works. It paved path for my ease in putting things I actually couldn't do that easily and correct the errors I made. Most importantly I started feeling at great ease and connection with English.

And the poem was at its best, the words you have used and the perfection of rhyming scheme and the slight hint of fantasy yet giving away reality awed me that I fell for the first two lines alone badly. There isn't a part I could specifically say as my favorite because all your poem kept me engaged and kept me loving it.

Keep writing more as the way you write always amazes me, makes me love it, go through a whole lot of imaginations, and makes me learn a lot!

I put you in this poem because you are an important part of the reason I wrote it in the first place. It is the many young writers, the many writers that English is not their native language and the many just starting to write poetry writers that have allowed me to help them with their writing is great fun for me. I read this poem over and over and as much as I liked it, I'll be boondoggled as I did not find my name making the credits. It must be my glasses!

I thought about it but there being over thirteen hundred poets with the 101 I had to question my rhyme ability being able to work them all accurately in a poem.
