{Matt's Poem}

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Angelic laughter
Soft spoken
Held back with tears
Everyday I fight a new battle
Patience tries my will
Everyday it becomes more demanding
Will it ever stall
Nevertheless
I hide from it all
Trying to find my place
In a world so cold and cruel
Look at me
As I wounder
Why I did this to you
Mommy's little angel
A miracle sent
Straight from above
And here I am wasting
Your undying love
Let me see through your eyes
The stories you love to keep
Jealousy rises
It creeps to know you, so sweet
Look for I gloat
Of having my angel
And my heaven on earth.

Never apologize for your poetry, Ella, only embrace it. That is lesson one. Actually, it's lesson three, but saying that would be less effective. lol

This poem depends on the emotion and experiences of the reader to interpret. You can leave it that way, by all means, but I think just a few little examples of more provoking vocabulary can take this great poem to the stars! Other than that, this is just about perfect. You were right, it isn't your best, but it's still fantastic and so much better than what 95% of the world can do. Again, don't apologize!

Thanks for sharing!

I can feel your sadness.. and we often ask the question "are we doing enough?" it's not about doing it right but some one else's standards.. it's about being the best you can be... xxx

Man...this is too intense for words.
Very heavy on the heart.
