Roses Of Blue

Roses Of Blue

A Poem by Kim S.
"

POEM

"

Her heart is pure delight

Lady of the calm night

Lonely is what she writes.

Dreams do come in roses of blue

and sweet thoughts are like morning dew

As she thinks of every word through,

So somewhere deep in her precious, wild thought

So this is where she has sat lonely and fought

Her heart just can’t be bought,

Her passion is so sweet

her dreams stay with a beat
nothing stays so complete.

Oh but every now and again

I hear the howling of the wind!

As she picks up her fountain pen.

There may be times I write what I'm going through

It reminds me of how some roses are blue

And well, they just simply remind me of you.

The poetess by night. A delightful write. Lovely poetic expression and reminds me of women poets in byegone days, particularly Emily Dickinson. Nicely composed Kim.

Blue roses are truly delightful.
Great poem.
Keep it up! Take good care.

This is lovely. It reminds me of Elizabeth Browning sitting at her desk or maybe Dickinson behind her drapes in Amherst writing words to make the reader giddy with delight. Sadness can be beautiful too as strange as it seems. Dickens has a short story, "A Child's Dream of a Star" that is heart wrenchingly sad but also beautiful. It's a strange paradox to understand but shows his mastery of language. I enjoyed your write.

A beautiful reflection on thought, away from the noise of days I feel and all the distractions it can bring, where words can be written and felt and beauty seen without the need for noise to disturb that calm.
Beautifully expressed.
