But if you knew, I've been this way for days

I wouldn't tell you what I felt

Just because of conflicting feelings dealt

But if you wanted to know

I guess just maybe I could show

The reasons I DO feel that way

Could I please just have a say?

I'm not sure if you know it

Or even just a little bit

How much inspiration you bring

These poems you write, you know they sing

And how much everyone loves you

How we want to help you when you're blue

But the way you push it away

Your eyes have turned cloudy and gray

If you wanted to know why I lied

I just couldn't tell you, I felt I had tried

But now I know, yes it was stupid

To deny myself to the arrow of Cupid

You know I've been shot, as well as I

Just can you please give love one more try

I may not know you well, or maybe not enough

But please do not let your manner be so gruff

I know you've been hurt, it shows in your poetry

Stabbing me right through, with every line that I read

Maybe you don't care about all these silly things

That I'm seeming to say, or how my heart sings

I know somewhere in you, there's a wholesome piece of your heart

Despite your pessimism, that you have been torn apart

I know this part exists, maybe not at the surface

Not all of your heart is shattered like glass

You don't have to be hollow, or empty inside

You don't have to hide the tears you've cried

It's not a joke I speak, I mean not to anger you

But I've just had to say this, so you know it's true

I'm gonna be here, no matter what it will take

Even if it means being your friend, just know this wasn't fake

"He's known for a while that I've liked him. I've not breached the subject much until today. He's not dense. He just doesn't wanna be hurt again. He's had several people leave out on him. And break his heart. So he's shut it down and doesn't wanna open it again ever. But he's got so much pain within him it makes me suffer to know it and all I wanna do is help him. /: You know?
