The Broken Poet, And She Knows It

The Broken Poet, And She Knows It

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

Oh, can you tell I haven't slept very well since the last time that we spoke?

"
Silence seals my lips, threatening to force tears.
As my mind races with all those unsaid fears.
And I don't want to believe what stares me in the face,
but I think I might have to, I need a mental brace.
Slowly, my world will crash down, piece by piece;
Until my heart is no longer for lease.
Shattered into more than a million fragments,
My heart shall slumber, cold and dormant.
My ears listen to the sounds of betrayal,
Written in your words, leaving it's ugly trail.
Printed across my eyes that now see the truth,
And how I should no longer need any proof.
Closer to the line I draw, i'm almost across,
And I'm tripping and stumbling, I'm so lost.
So, I'll now stand here in the dark
Thinking how the sound has died, no pretty lark.
This silence fixed my lips shut, turned my heart cold,
And forever it shall stay that way, until I'm old.
Unless one day a prince shall tempt the lark to sing,
And speak of good days that he shall forever bring.

I'm going to address this right now. I do take Read Requests, but that DOES NOT mean you need to RR me everything you write. And I do not read stories unless it's of my own free-will. So do not RR the.. more..
