Human to the Cold

Human to the Cold

A Poem by BenightedWhispers

Cold cold oh so cold
As cold as my dark heart
As cold as steel
As cold as death
As sudden as misery
As easy to cure as sorrow
Cold, ice cold, cold cold cold
All because of Nature
Me with only my body warmth and
This hole to keep me warm
My only companions are the White imps and
The cold cold cold oh the cold
Die cold; fade away into, the unknown
Let me be and set me free
Oh the harsh words I would say, cold
If only I could speak
I see you falling in celebration and
Blowing your icy cold breath
Oh cold, I vow I will not die by your hand
I will not give up so easily
It doesn’t matter that my color is fading away
Looking like you
I will not give in cold
That you can be sure of
Cold cold cold
Die; fade away into, the unknown
Leave me be and set me free
Let me go home
What ever did I do to deserve such treatment
You are truly the devil incarnation
Who ever said you live down below
Must have never met the REAL devil
My fingers are frozen
As are my feet
I am going numb but does that stop me cold
You may have won many wars but
You have never met me
I will survive you
Even if I only live a little while after
I won’t give in
I won’t give up
Even if you suffocate me you can’t kill me
