Celebrity vexations

Celebrity vexations

A Poem by Deepika
"

We often fantasize the life of a celebrity, but fail to account their complications.Just a lighthearted piece on this.In the shoes of a celebrity..

"

My skin is so attuned to those whitewash,

Without them I look worse than a dry fish

Everyone admires when I wear sharp wedges,

They rewind and giggle when I fall at the edges!

Long black gown in an ad made me a style icon,

There's gonna be a high demand at the auction

Someday a zip snaps; out of a misfortune,

Making up a column under wardrobe malfunction

Adored was I someday, when dressed to the nines,

When repeated, made it to the article headlines!

I go out for coffee with a co-star as I'm bored,

Now we are gauged as the secret love birds

My boyfriend for a change dumps me one day,

About our breakup soon everyone's got a say!

In frustration I drink and drive home,

Now I'm a topic of debate for some!

One day I go out and have the food I ardor,

Next day my weight is a subject of everyone’s bother,

Fans with zeal sketch and present me my picture,

I'm bound to just smile and let go my displeasure,

I'm expected to know all the universal matters,

Else I’ll be glorified at the satirical center!

Just I step out at public places someday,

I'm bound to tolerate media all the way,

I open my facebook fan page just in case,

To see the people with profiles of my own face!

True, indeed! So much toil and turmoil behind that pretty face and the gentle gait! An ugly world keeps clawing at them, thirsty for the moment they snap. In the midst of this, paps forget they are humans too. Ofcourse, on the other hand there are those, a small number, who crave the attention and soil everyone's image and opinion.
Enjoyed your views and way you wrote this. I like that you find most simplest or strangest of the topics and pen them down so fluidly :)

Thanks for your valuable time Emily :)
very nice description of hardship and trouble that celebrity faces. now if anyone else has to write, he can add
'even if i visit a literary page or site
I'll find a poem describing my plight'
hats off to your creativity, you write so often and still manage to find a creative idea for your next piece. it's amazing !

I really like this write Deepika. I laughed when I read the lines "I go out for coffee with a co-star as I'm bored, Now we are gauged as secret love birds." Isn't that the truth with media today... any time they can snap a picture of two stars having lunch or anything they are secretly seeing each other. Great work I really enjoyed reading :)
