Your seascape imagery here Betty and the whiff of salt in the air reminded me how much I miss Brixham which is a Devon fishing town. I holiday there most years but won't be going there for a while yet. Sounds of the sea, sounds of those screeching gulls. I heard it all and I miss it so. A welcome write to soothe my ache. Thank you dear poet.

Thanks Chris for that beautiful review, really appreciate it!
The images here are both contrasting and together, with a comparison at the end between water and rocks. Or maybe it's more like an initial struggle that soon becomes acceptance. I went to personal memories here, and feel like this is an allegory for many active moments in my past, and the pasts of many others... brought into the present. I can smell the sea, hear the gulls, see farther than the words. This poem invites readers in and gives them both memories and foreshadowing, with the most important thing mentioned outright = peace.

What an amazing review. you really dove into this poem and saw so much more than I intended; that is so wonderful!!! I wrote this while vacationing on Amelia Island which has the Atlantic on one side and the peaceful intro-coastal on the other...Thank you again for stopping by!, Best, Betty
dear Betty... your poem reminds me of our Atlantic Ocean on the Eastern Shore of the USA.
We spent all our Vacations at the Ocean with Seagulls and waves crashing against the shore
where Sandbars were places where children would dance in the waves and Life Guards would
watch everyone carefully. The Mothers and Grandparents sat under Umbrellas and young people
played Volley Ball in between Splashing in the Waves. Love your English Version with Cockles around a
Rocky Coast. tenderly, Pat

Thanks so much for your review!! Best, Betty
This poem is chock-full of sensory delights & great seashore details. This reminds me of the one thing I've always loved about living in California (true of most of the west coast up to the Puget Sound) . . . both the sea & the mountains are often within sight. I love how many dynamic details you capture in this swirl of swish. The sounds of your words resemble the various swishing & bumping of the sea (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank so much Margie' you are my mentor and love your reviews! I know they are very truthful ,XO,B
A perfect portrait Betty. I was brought up in a small Scottish fishing village, Lower Largo, the home of the real life Robinson Crusoe and your description is spot on.
Well done!
All the best,
Alan

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
