THE EMPERORS FOLLY

THE EMPERORS FOLLY

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

political spoof

"
Lies, lies, stinking lies!
the emperor shall rise
so confusing
it's not amusing
it's fear that gushes from our brains
even in the rainiest of rains
it's true he spare's no luck
don't say what the f--k
fed up with this nerd
pea brain resembles a bird
his veins bulge out
his torso, a bit stout
salivates when he talks
waddles when he walks
burden with three words together
can't even read the weather
howls what he means
then changes his teams
cries out to blame
as if it's a game
It's me, me, me
the rest he fails to see
resides in sweet FLA, a ghost
that's a beastly roast
engaged to Twitter
sworn to spit bitter
tamper with mail
federal offense, land in jail???
if he should lose
the emperor may de-robe with a bucket of booze
why put up with all this drool?
it's an autocracy you fool!

Woah what a political rant, I see many these days but yours is fantastic, sarcastic , a hardhitting super slam type criticism of the politician. I enjoyed the rhyming and speedy flow in it. Kudos!

Plz pleez do read and comment my newest poem too, it's right on top of my page.

Should a Brit comment on such wit, such truth... no?! . But I can applaud your gift for words, Betty - this is a case of cut the crap and do what should be done.. just for fun: go for the jugular!

I'm following everything you're ranting & I'm trying not to let it drive me crazy. It's a fine balancing act to still care & want to stay abreast of what's going on in our country, but then not to foment about it like so many others are doing. As soon as I heard about the demise of RBG, I wanted to avoid the public forums becuz I knew they'd only give a minute to the woman & endless hours to the political conundrum. I have never felt more like I wasn't actually part of a democracy anymore. The part that feels especially restrictive to me -- there will be an angry pile-on in most social arenas if we express our disgust as openly as you have in this poem! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Brilliant Betty, you've caught the b* perfectly and you know the beast in each nauseating detail. There is something compulsively repulsive about him and my wife catches me on YouTube - not again she scolds!
I hope he corona-ed!
All the best,

We certainly are living in trying times. It’s a mess. There is so much to say here and you poem says it well.

Yes, that an understatement and we are all suffering for it... thank you so much for you comment!
Dear Betty. I don't have to second guess who your lines are referring to. You are all in a position to make changes and very soon. I keep a check from this side of the pond. I felt some frustration in your poem and a strong desire for future change. A punchy little poem.
