PURPLE SUNSET

PURPLE SUNSET

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

Love song

"

My flaws darling

Now I perceive

You are every part of me

I ought to have held you tight

Kissed your smooth lips

Ought to have whispered tenderly

Little things we cherished

Yet I shunned

My guilt love, not with intent

My plan to veil you

Like a goddess in a purple sunset

But I let you down

Shattered the time

If you sense only second best

My sorrows to you

I urge, does our love still matter?

Likely I can hope

And ponder those lonely times

Without you

I overlooked much in our bond

Yet, you were always on my mind

What a man, what a voice, what a tragic end.
Sometimes in life, relationships it's not until we lose someone that we truly appreciate how special they were and how lucky we were to have had them let us into their life.
Good morning Betty, enjoyed your words
