DARK BLUE SCREAM

DARK BLUE SCREAM

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

emptiness, colorless mood, snow

"

DARK BLUE SCREAM

Thick, wet snow

So deep, it blankets

My milieu, traps me

Indeed, coats my brain

At this moment in time

Life is white

Barren, empty

Pure yet dull

Words escape

With no color to create

I deem a disconnect with myself

Winter creatures are hush

Naught to stir me back to verve

Silence is a dark blue scream

When blackness veils me

Perhaps I shall doze off

This irksomeness

dearest Betty... A huge Snow can bring traveling to a halt,,, and without Salt... it may be awhile to get things moving. Even so, I noticed that the Sunset was a bright Orange for a short time. And then... darkness fell....
leaving Steeples covered with Snow. At least.. it nourishes the Earth. Amen... Pat

Everything grinds to a halt. Even thought becomes sluggish. But perhaps in hibernation new things wait, the bear cubs of our dreams just emerging from the womb. And in the Spring we can lead them out for the world to see.

Like the classy Jacob I too loved the last to lines. I think all of us that have interacted with Jacob would have loved him to be our tutor.

Enjoy the break
we talk about this in my class...white...a color or lack of color.
Here it is like an empty page as words fall like snowflakes...
only to create more emptiness...
love the last two lines...
and the dark blue scream...that deep blue of the sky as the clouds recede after a snowstorm ceases.

In winter weather everything seems
suspended in time dullness sets in
devoid of colorful hues we so need.
to see to feel energy and life..
snow is beautiful but so much
of it and it's a whiteout to the senses

Nice Work

Wonderfully illustrative piece of winter in this work. I remember as a child one of my first experiences with winter snow trying to climb up a hill and finding myself sinking waist deep into the whiteness. My little legs kicking beneath it as if I were trying to swim out of my predicament.
