INVITATION

INVITATION

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

sometimes the cosmos knows when one is in need

"

INVITATION

In a dark vein

I stroll along the beach

Near the bubbles at sea’s edge

Water lucid and calm as a lake

Placid night, save for a seagull’s flap

To ease my humor

Clouds luminous by the moon’s blush

I sit in yoga posture

Spread the textured sand

amidst my fingers

My neck stretches high

I shall purify my mind

Of sad notions

Surprisingly I sense pulses of fiery heat

Upon my shoulders and to the rear

Fear it may be a beast

I gaze up to see the moon

Burst from the clouds

Perhaps an invitation to me

To shroud me in his warmth

Engross me in his mirth

Declaim my sulk

I unfold my appreciation

He vanishes

The shimmering stars concur

The beach is so different under the moon. Isis seems to take charge and charge the atmosphere with a silvery glow. Very nice.

there is very little to compare with the sea and its many changing moods and what belter to emphasize it all than a bright shinning moon

Wow I've lived this but never in one time your write is in order but my confusion is I feel what you're say just couldn't put it together I had to go back and read again to understand one way or another these feelings can come together. Love how you brought image in visual thinking with your words.
Excellent write.
Thank you for sharing.

Betty, That photograph of the moon bursting clouds is wonderful what a great exposure! I have been working on a nocturne well more like I have been listening to nocturnes and trying to write one LOL! But I would dare say that that's what this is... at least to these old eyes!

Wow! The immensity of that sky, with all of those clouds, and the dot of the moon overhead certainly served as inspiration here. You unfolded your appreciation in scripts of syllables to stretch as far and wide as the beach. I can feel the sand beneath my feet and desperately await the return of spring. Well done.
