SUNSHINE OF POSSIBILITY

SUNSHINE OF POSSIBILITY

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

dark, with hope

"

Her poetic words undermine his being

his strident lament reaches to the quarter moon

pinned to agony with no revenge

unrevealed secrets on the horizon

shadows of his former self

before he met her

those pleasing love poems

seem like centuries ago

He refuses to inhale her poetic wrath

yet it seeps into his soul

causing writer’s block to shroud him

in a prison of dark thoughts

After a long sleep

he sees a crack of light reflect on the ceiling

a hidden gem

perhaps a sunshine of possibility

to open the door for future poems

of nature, of love, of life

"sunshine of possibility

to open the door for future poems"

When we have an idea for a new poem, it adds sunshine to everything. The possibility of writing again after a writer's block is what we hope for.

Thank you Ke for a lovely review

Life can kill the muse of the writer, the poet. Once alive dreams can be forgotten. A lucky poet can find other reasons to create and write. I liked the logic and the thoughts in your words dear Betty. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Yes indeed, dark with hope and brimming with so very many possibilities .. I sense this is as yet, a work in progress .. and the ending I envisage illuminating .. warmly, Neville

'Can usually tell how a person is unless self is deaf, blind and dumb or the other has a few Oscars under the bed! Experience is supposed to be the best teacher: here, on both sides, maybe. This is a poem of mixed blessings. Betty - a crossroads of what ifs or what the heck! You are such a fine poet/writer, dear friend!

Hmm. This is so complicated. Seems to me like the spell of a sweet enchantress is having the opposite effect. It takes 2 to tango. How long is this going to remain a one sided thing. I see that unhappy man likely cutting loose and drifting away or driving away at some point.
I know it's coming late but A Happy new year to you Betty.

in spite of your vivid imagination effectively feeding this resonating romantic saga with your legendarily, dazzling, descriptive writing, I think this sorry sap should cut and run, however, perhaps you harbor a secret grudge against men in general, possibly inspired by an insult from an old boyfriend or having once being unceremoniously dumped by another lover, etc,, you may want to yet enjoy turning the screw a while longer?? (a woman's wrath)
Altho,' do so at your own risk, because perhaps, while sitting reading, during time spent on the throne, his muse could come up with a way to turn the tables!!??!!
One never knows do one!
