Never-ending Nightmare

After a life of disappointments...

Screaming on the inside, crying on the out,
                No one ever really cares what its all about.

Sitting alone, with nothing but fear,
                Quietly releasing all of my tears-

Until there’s none left, and I’m running on dry,
                Screaming so loud, surrounded by lies.

Then I see someone, could it be true?
                Or has sleep taken me, and I now dream of you?

You hold me close and silence my screams,
                For once in my life, it’s alright - so it seems.

But then you let me go, and let me fall.
                I cannot believe I trusted you at all!

You watch me fall with no expression in your eyes,
                How could I have believed all of your lies?

I hit hard ground, without any sound,
                And look up at you with new tears rolling down.

I scream “Why?” but you just turn,
                Walk away without a word.

Back to the darkness I am again,
                Sitting silently, waiting for the end…

I see you come back, why do I feel hope?
                You gather me into your arms, and help me cope.

Then you drop me, and again I fall down,
                it’s a never ending nightmare to that I am bound.

I live it over, again and again,
                Yet willingly so just to see your face again shown.
