Nine Toed Dan

Nine Toed Dan

A Poem by William Michael Reeves
"

A Limerick

"
Nine toes counting now has Dan
One less than nature had planned
Stepped on a screw
Blew through his shoe
But the loss has made him more of a man!

My friend Dan from 'Dan's Journey', had one of his big toes amputated a few months ago. He has stepped it up(pardon). He described himself on Facebook as nine toed Dan. This was my reply.

Ooooo Ouch! Yes, how could it not make you step up with a loss of a body part! One that helps us balance as well, we compensate. Good man Dan! Keep on the path! Wonderful writing tribute to a man and his toe!

Yep, my husband suffers from that syndrome:)
nine toes is better than none, better than one, too bad for the screw, and not a stronger shoe,
but Dan the man, not his plan but so goes the toes.
