Phases of the Night

Phases of the Night

A Poem by William Michael Reeves
"

A Renga with Karen and Kathy Sue Sills

"
A curved form tapers
gravity into silver light
the crescent moon glows

sterling, falls on day that wanes
piercing lunar arrows arch

light shimmers above
the moon turns a quarter, shapes
a glorious night

envelopes our Sol, stunning dark
a noble quartern takes sight

sun illuminates
the Earth cast in dark shadow
a half moon ignites

nocturnal flames eclipse life
rising balance unveils

radiant full moon
neutral, golden, dazzling bright
burning overhead

Kathy Sue wrote the first two haiku and Karen the last two. I slipped my three couplets in between to form a Renga. A poetic threesome!

A lovely threesome of Haiku... all are connected to the cosmos, the phases of the moon, the eclipses, the earth cast in dark shadow from it; I love watching the phases of the moon.... and the tides of the ocean. very delicate Haiku....loved it!
Best, B
PS, if you ever want to collaborate on a Haiku, let me know... Ive written some moons ago...

I like seeing how the sisters write ✍️ the volley of ideas that link a lifetime of writing, and you bind the whole poem together in a ribbon.

It seems to me that You wrote about the Sun while they wrote about the moon, crescent and full, so I can't help but see the cycle of night and day, woman and man, in one word; life. B.T.W Didn't You learn to never go between two ladies? now how unfortunate that You have to leave another comment to my visible review now 😂
