How?

How?

A Poem by BlessedLove
"

I wish I had a time machine..but its hard to even choose what I'd reverse...

"

How do you say hello when you're told to say goodbye?

Goodbye to what you cherished,

Goodbye to what you believed in,

Goodbye to what you wanted.

How do you accept defeat when defeat is indeed in vain?

When defeat arrives for all the wrong reasons.

When defeat does not seem to be warranted.

When defeat is not needed.

How do you act like nothing is wrong?

Like nothing has happened.

Like everything should run smooth.

Like everything hasn't changed.

How do you feel good about yourself when you're rejected?

Rejected by what you deem as love.

Rejected by persons you're forced to co-exist with; due to authoritarian and prejudiced institiutions.

Rejected by things you ought not to be rejected by.

How do you rise above everything?

Rise above all the hurt you've felt.

Rise above all the failure.

Rise above all experiences.

How do you draw close to God when you've turned your back on Him for oh so long?

And the only time(s) you "go back" to Him is when challenges hit you.

When you know you've been almost the opposite of what you're ordained to be.

When you turned your back on Him for the shallowest of reasons; a reason that didn't even last.

How do you close the doors that you've left ajar?

That you've allowed to bring forth unnecessary hurt.

That you've wrongly placed a door stopper at.

That you've painted over and over to make sure its the only one that grabs your attention.

~~~~~~~~~~ Here's How: ~~~~~~~~~~
You say hello the same way you always did, just make sure you've learnt from past experiences;
Keep your guard up...you'll always be hurt otherwise...
You don't need to accept defeat...
Just don't concern yourself with it..that way, it won't matter to you..and you can move beyond it.
You can act like nothing is wrong...only if you choose to run from your problems..
Confront your problem with the utmost courage, tackle it and you'll be on your way.
You can always feel good about yourself in the long run...
Just know that you've been rejected because you just chose the wrong thing to jump into.
With that state of mind..you can move on with whichever aspect of your life.
You rise above everything by learning from your experience(s)...
You're not a fool...a fool is someone who knows what to expect yet still goes through with whatever it is.
God loves you no matter what! He is faithful and just to forgive us.
Just make sure you're sincerely sorry...and you follow it up with your actions from then on.
Truth is, its really hard to stop a habbit....therefore, it's hard to close a door you've left ajar purposely.
But if its letting in forms of pain into your life..without remorse...its time to shut that door; lock it, bolt it and throw away the key!
Wow, I am barely able at this later time in my life to express what you do. I love this line, "it's hard to close a door you've left ajar purposely." I do this all the time in things just in case I need a getaway from the difficulty of doing what I know I need to do. I can't think of anything you could change or add to this; it's perfect and absolutely hits the nail on the head of humanity!
I am amazed the experiences and knowledge you have. I am starting to believe in the term "Old Soul". This poem hit on a few points I have yet to address myself. Maybe I was lead to this piece. Again my lady you have mad skills and you are such a complex indivisual that share so much of yourself with us all. We are the blessed ones.
****Wow girl, I have felt this so many times. you spoke from my heart too. i know, usually when things are smoother for me, i don't pray to God as much. But suddenly when things get hard i'm practically crying for god's help.
excellent write. you speak for so many people, i could feel your emotions. you are excellent at getting your feelings on paper. not everyone has that gift like you and i, so keep doing what you do. this was amazing, to say the least.
