Cold World

Cold World

A Poem by Christian Bonoan

The world's gone cold and scary
Like the sun's not shining at all
And no moon to give us hope
Just black sky with black hearts

No stars shining to dream of
And blue sky that reflects the ocean
A world full of hatred and sins
Covering the love of all humanity

Oh I wish it's all in my head
But look! everyone's all lies
Forgiving people have vanished
And all is full of judging minds

The world's gone cold but still I hope
That someone like superman can heal this hole
Lies now cover love and everything nice
Oh I hope love will rise in our hearts.

It seems like you attempt to portray some issues concerning the today's situations but in negative ways.
"The world's gone cold and scary
Just black sky with black hearts".
-Indeed, we are living in the world where people are no longer showing love and respect. This has clearly turned the world into darkness.
"A world full of hatred and sins
Covering the love of all humanity".
-Hatred and sins here relate to war. As we can see, there are so many wars out there that destroy the human peace.
"But look! everyone's all lies
Forgiving people have vanished
And all is full of judging minds"
- All people have lost their mind because of their selfishness.
"That someone like superman can heal this hole".
-I like the term "superman" here. It represents someone who can bring out the power of positivity. But it is not enough for just only one superman. This world definitely needs a lot of super men to overcome those problems.
Overall, I really like the way you express your ideas through this poem.

Thank you for this review! This made my day :)
I have the same wish as the below lines.'
"The world's gone cold but still I hope
That someone like superman can heal this hole
Lies now cover love and everything nice
Oh I hope love will rise in our hearts."
We hear words of war and terror. Rare words of peace, concern and kindness. Thank you Christian for sharing the amazing poetry.

Reading the newspapers or listening to the newscasts all we ever seem to hear about is the bad things. Time for them to start sharing the good news too . Valentine

I always like inspirational pieces that look for the good in a world full of darkness. You may want to capitalize Superman, as here it is used as a proper noun, his name. Love will be the thing that survives though the ages. Cling to it.

Truth is, there probably wont be one superman to save this world. If it is to be saved it will be by the hands and hearts of many super men and women. It starts by just being nicer to those around us, those we love, those we trust, and especially those we don't. Sometimes we have to fall on our swords, even when we are right so as to create the morality we so desperately yearn for in this world. I agree with the people that say this is downright depressing but the problem is that it is so depressing because it is so true. "Black sky with black hearts" definitely takes the prize as most revealing. Its the very hearts that have become darkened that makes this world so downright dark. Anyway, thats just my two cents, I really like this poem and I stand hoping right beside you, just trying to do my part to make this world a little better

Maybe the reason why this po.. read more
sad overall but ends on a positive hope.

It's very depressing, but you did end on a hopeful note, and that lightens my heart a bit.

There is much wrong on this planet & humans are at the core of most of it. I don't like to focus on the negative & your poem kinda does that. It's right on the edge of how much negativity I might get a little tired of hearing, due to a lack of balance (too bleak for me). However, you do end your poem on a hopeful note, which is also a playful, imaginary dreamscape, & this lightens up your message immensely. All said, I think this is an honest & true word picture of what's wrong & your message is definitely worth pushing thru my initial feelings of "too much negativity".

Sigh, I agree with your thoughts... you make the world a smaller place.

Interesting thoughts. We do have very different styles you and I, but I like the thought process and the light at the end.
