I would Burst

I would Burst

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

A fight among the senses. To write or not to write.
An answer!
I would Burst if I didn't put pen to paper.

My visits in incremental 3.
Time enough to forget and live on.
Not this time, a window, 2 chairs, a desk, one computer and him always seated opposite. Remembering nothing else. Wondering Did the room hold his likeness?

What was on the walls, what was on the floor, were there shelves for books? Were there pictures?
Who was he, what does he really do?
I could barely pronounce his name but the questions swirled within. Only 4 years or so had past,
I knew him not!

Then the window was out of place. There was only one where I thought two. It was on the right, not two behind.
Did I wake up? Only 4 years or so from my past until today!

I know his name now - can even spell it. I know his history from his introduction page.
I'm tuning in and have 3 months to tune out again.

Seems we learn far more from the past than realized- maybe from slowly erupting scars. Is how it can be with writing too: the pen or key so often scrapes across unwilling thoughts til.. the hand is somehow forced to tell all. Your poem seems to be both wretched, muddled yet.. hopeful.. a lesson being slowly learned, perhaps. Sending gentle thoughts, hoping you safe and more, Bonnie.

2 chairs, one empty...
I have a painting my mom did...it is a porch and two empty chairs....love that painting and always imagine different scenarios of folks sitting there---including me, with several very close friends who are gone now.
4 years from my past I am still trying to catch up to it.
this poem is quite impactful.

I need to write dear Bonnie. It relaxes my mind. I dream poetry and story now. Some nights, hard to write. Good jazz music can awake my mind. Thank you dear friend for sharing your amazing poetry and your thoughts.
