Should I Plan

Should I Plan

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

Should I Plan

Taking simple joy from the left overs in my life during my senior years, as the cracked shell I’ve become now hides away.

Heavy that foot that landed on my back. It wouldn’t let me rise up.
No one told me I could be president or a big success, no one told me there was a wonderful bright future ahead. Rather believing I'd never see beyond my youth.

Every road I traveled lead to disappointing moments and hurting failures.
QUESTIONING!
SHOULD I PLAN?

Do I believe in anyone?
Can I love anymore?
Do I trust in anyone?
How much further do I go being this mortal person?
Sadness...I know how to adapt to, it is lifelong.
Happiness flits lightly interwoven between one day, once a month, once in a year.
Now all that happiness can be I want...In days, I want in months...and if God gives me years, I want happiness everyday too!

Seems life has thrown you a few curved balls, Bonnie, but believe me May brings hope along with need, joy with each day you plan by opening a door or window to let in a different scent if the day today rather than yesterday. Yes? Yes! You'll be there rather than here if you want it and you do I know from the past how determined you can be. Waving, welcoiming, wbisopering, 'Go for it! Take care, keep safe, Emma.

Doesn't sound happy...appears you had no positive words said to you in your life and yet you are able to actually write your feelings down...which is so positive...
I thought the line about being the president was interesting as it struck home for me.
When I was about 11 years old my father said to me, "Lisa, you can be anything you want.an artist or even the president." Funny how a moment of approval can change your life... Oh, do not get me wrong... I did not have the perfect childhood...but now that I am much older I do remember many of those important moments.

You can plan for yourself, look how far you have come and how important it is that you know that!
We cannot plan for others and that is actually good, we can in our differences respect each other including the choices we make.
A great way to let out your poem, and yes God will give you years and years dear....The future is as wonderful you believe to be in the present moment 🌸

Life is all roses and candy but it should be something similar. This reads as though life isn't being exactly as you wish it to be. Should you plan, for some things, probably but for others...there is no way to plan for what hurts us until we know what it is. All I can say is focus on the future and put the past in the past. Easier said than done...I know.
