Cherries and Life

What I think of the saying "life is a bowl of cherries."

Is life really like a bowl of cherries?

Should we even compare life to berries?

Red skin, smooth to the touch.

Yet, thin and fragile it doesn't protect much.

The silk of red on fruit so small,

does that mean our world is nice and all?

Sweet, like pure sugar on a drop of nectar.

Makes everyone feel that life is better.

Like every day will be better than it is.

So does that mean that people think this?

That life is really sweeter than candy.

Should we really take this literally.

Life is ragged, not like the silky, smooth red.

It is uneven, like the people we've met.

Life is cruel, not sweet like these berries.  

But with friends it can be worth the many difficulties.

with friends and family life is bearable yes.
But yer for some of us life can suck for allot of reasons, sometimes most of us just have no luck in life.
I can relate to this one, i like haw u have write about berries and life and kinda put it together, very well thought out and creative.

It takes a cleaver mind to create this type of work. I do think the last line went a bit astray from the rest of the poem but the work hold up. Some very good art and craft in most lines and some great witt too.

I believe that you meant to say "fragile", not "fragil".

Anyways, I've never heard this saying before, but now that I have, you gave me something to think about.

That part is definitely my favorite, and it is very very true. Life isn't always smooth, repetitive, and orderly. It has some unexpected twists that are definitely not silky and smooth. Also, friends can make life worthwhile and help you through all those unexpected events. Great message here, it definitely left me thinking.
