Warmth

Warmth

A Poem by Brinja Keelake

You are so far away and I can't touch you,

But right now we are so close.

I can feel your skin,

Your breath,

Your heart.

This glass that shows your face is cold and lifeless,

But brimming with energy.

I feel you hold me close,

Run your hands on my back

Through the words you speak.

The moments pass,

The words fade,

And I feel the warmth on my skin slowly begin to dull.

I smile,

Strength filling me with desire to be close to you.

My heart speeds up,

My hands sweat slightly,

My eyes close.

You are looking at me,

Quizzically.

You whisper "I love you" softly at your small screen.

It travels,

Faster than I could know,

To me,

And I feel your presense once more.
