A depressed girl struggling with self worth meets an amazing boy who seems to make everything ok again.

Her haunted eyes connect with his

Her inanimate gaze in a midnight haze

Soft heart, cold soul- sad stories never told

With a tired sigh she's ready to die

Now she's simply awaiting her final goodbye

His gray-blue eyes view the world as his stage

With a beautiful mind that only know innocence

He's a smooth talker, fast walker

Her brilliance she can't see, this he doesn't understand

So he dutifully holds her hand as she faces her final stand

Their beating hearts are synchronized

Her idea of love is mechanized

He looks at her and is mezmerized

He screams, he screams 'you're too strong to die'

Her grim reaper fades and she finally knows what it is to be alive

Lovely, sad and deeply emotional. The last stanza is really beautiful, this idea of love. Love is so powerful and indescribable and can cause us so much hardship and melancholy. The rhyme choice of the last stanza was just so well-done "synchronized - mechanized - mezmerized". I think this has to be one of my favourite poems I've read on here...

Beautiful! The 'he screams, he screams' really got to me. I could feel my heart going out the the couple in the poem. Keep writing!

This poem clearly conveys what the author is trying to portray. I can really get a feel for the characters. It's almost as if I know them. On a personal note this touches me in a very soft place that I usually suppress. This poem has really appealed to me and I can't wait to see more.
