The Imaginary FriendA Story by BrynnaW.This invisible friend is anything but innocent. Why not kill? It might say....
I walked around the house while talking to my friend. Of course, you can't see him but he is real alright. People say that he is my imaginary friend but, I see him. Why don't you? My friend shows me what I should be doing and what I shouldn't. He was the one that encouraged me to do my chores and then write on the walls instead of doing homework... Good times. Mom wasn't too happy, though. She yelled at me but all I could say was:
"My friend told me to!" My mom would look around and then say that my friend was all in my mind. All actions we because of me, no one else. I walked away and apologized for my mom's rudeness. When my mom heard me, she sighed and started to clean the walls. After a week or so, I heard my friend talk to me again. I heard him talk to me crystal clear. What he said stunned me. "Kill," he said, "Kill her. Your mom doesn't believe in me so why should you believe in her? Trust her? Or believe that she exists? I am as real as you. It is your mom that is in your head. You needed protection so you made her up for comfort. Destroy her." I cried hard but took up the knife. My heart pounded as I entered my mom's room. She was sitting on the floor in front of the TV, crying. I noticed that it was the news and saw that the news caster was talking about a man that had killed his son. I dropped the knife and refused to go through with the task. My friend picked up the knife and I closed my eyes. He did what I couldn't; the knife was shoved into her and I cried out. When I opened my eyes, I saw the knife not in his hand but mine and I no longer saw my friend. It was all in my head but still I said: "My friend told me to!"
