Chapter 1-Discovering Magic

I woke up one day, and it seemed so ordinary. Krystal called me up at dawn and said that she was coming over. Tiana popped up first, but I never knew how she could get here so fast. I quickly made breakfast for the three of us. Tiana could eat so much! When I got the food on the table, Tiana was already sitting. She quickly gobbled down her plateful of scrambled eggs and grabbed a piece of toast and jam. The doorbell rang. Krystal was here! I walked by the living room, and the hearth burst into flames. What? I wasn't even near the fireplace! I took a step closer, and the flames grew brighter. I started reaching for them---

DING DONG!!

Tiana shouted, "Are you going to get that, Eva?"

"Um, yeah!" I hollered back. "Coming!" I ran to the door and yanked it open, just as Krystal rang the doorbell again.

"Eva!" Tiana shouted. I heard her footsteps coming down the hall, but they suddenly stopped.

"Hey, Krystal," I said.

"That took a while," she grumbled.

"Emily, did you light the fireplace?" Tiana called.

"Umm...kind of?" I replied. I walked over to the living room with Krystal on my heels. I saw Tiana staring at the fire with amazement.

"What?" I asked shakily, "It's just a fire."

Tiana shook her head. "It's not just any fire. It's a Fire of the Dawn."

LOL originally when I wrote this it was 6 pages front on back on binder paper. My other story "Chocolate Ice Cream" has longer chapters.
